Product Development Manager (Non-Core)

Position Summary:

We are looking for an innovative Product Development manager to join our Non-Core category at MK Restaurant, a healthy chain restaurant operator of 600 outlets. You have a passion for food and have commitment to quality in everything that you do. You will lead product development initiatives based on customer insight. The ideal candidate has a global mindset and has successfully implement new product that meet customer expectations and company quality, margin enhancement and growth targets. This position partners cross-functionally and requires excellent project management skills. 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop tasty recipe and effective product plans to launch and promote NPD and promotions to grow Non-Core (Teen and YA/ Lunch/ Snack/ Desserts & Beverage/ On-the-go occasions)
  • Work closely with Marketing team to understand consumer needs/insight, changing lifestyle and market trend in order to identify and deliver impactful NPD for MK new occasions
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, Purchasing and Quality Assurance to ensure project objectives and timeline. Builds strong working relationships with people in all functions
  • Identifies market/product opportunities and threats and implements action plans accordingly
  • Identifies emerging technology and food trends and applies to new product opportunities
  • Reviews, prioritizes and assigns projects. Sets clear direction by clearly communicating and reinforcing expected outcomes with the team
  • Identifies and implements cost savings opportunities
  • Works with production facilities/departments to ensure a straightforward scale-up once the reformulations/new products are ready for large-scale production
  • Supports resolution of quality issues through use of root-cause analysis
  • Coaches and partners with direct reports to effectively manage performance
  • Conduct promotion activities analysis monthly to assess and propose action plan that coincides with marketing goals
  • Lead and stimulate the team to achieve marketing, product development and sales enhancement goals
  • Carry out any other assignments assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

  • 5 years+ in culinary experience or product development with at least 2 of those years supervising others
  • BS/MS degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Hospitality or related field with strong proven records of food knowledge and consumer taste insight. Culinary certificate preferred
  • In-depth knowledge in F&B, market research and QSR. Has a global mindset

Assistant Marketing Manager(YAYOI)

Main Responsibilities :

  • Capture Japanese food market and strengthen YAYOI brand by creating products, promotions and services that meets customer demand.

  • Manage document control and quality control system under ISO and other standards associated with the business.

Qualifications :

  • Male or female age 29 years old or above
  • A minimum of Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communication Arts, MBA or related field
  • At least 1-2 years working experience in Branding/Promotion/Digital/Local Store Marketing
  • Experience in data analysis and market research to develop and implement marketing strategy
  • A good team player with excellent interpersonal skill and ability to coordinate internally cross function and externally

MK Group Quality Assurance and Food Safety Director / Assistant Director

Position Summary:

Strategically innovate, implement and manage the Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs according to company policies of MK Restaurant Group, a chain restaurant operator of 600 outlets. Ensure quality and food safety standards are maintained according to related regulatory agencies. Ideal candidate is highly process-oriented and has capability to lead, train and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strive towards maximum results and grow a culture of continuous improvement. You will challenge the status quo to implement breakthrough strategies to achieve no food safety issues, high ethical standards, and top quality customer dining experience. Reports to the CEO.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Proactively work and innovate processes to prevent recalls, withdraws and loss of customers due to quality issues, research and recommend enhancements to food safety, product quality, production procedures, equipment, and management practices
  • Collaborate on all QAFS activities to add guidance and expertise in all areas (e.g. Lab, AMS, AW and data collections)
  • Effectively partner with Operations, Maintenance, Sales, Supply Chain and other functional areas to teach, lead and guide all employees engaged in food production, food safety and quality initiatives
  • Create and foster a culture that understands and recognizes food safety and quality as a top priority, ensure employees are trained on an on-going basis and in compliance with company regulations to ensure quality and consistency of products
  • Foster and environment of continuous process improvement to drive efficiencies, increased accuracy and stronger decision making. Ensure high levels of engagement from all levels of employees
  • Manage written responses, customer inquiries and visits for food safety and product quality complaints

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Engineering or related field
  • Preferred MBA or MS in Food Science, Food Safety or related field
  • Preferred certified in ISO 22000, HACCP, ISO, GMP or other food safety/QA audit certifications
